The Skull Mask "Skyborne" EP

Staraya Derevnya and Skull Mask planned a trip to play in Tel Aviv, Haddad and Jerusalem with a few days to record while in Tel Aviv, then heading to France and Belgium for three more shows. My flight departure was on November 1st 2023. So you all know what happened in October 2023 between Hamas and Israel so the whole plan dissolved entirely in a matter of days. As a Mexican I am torn between the horrors lived in both sides. Sometimes the perception in the western hemisphere tends to be biased by the news and other factors. But I have my friends in Israel so I cannot be unresponsive to their struggle and as I always have said. Individuals shall not be placed along their own country politics. Anyways.  Gosha and I found the time and inspiration to deliver this little one. We are working on new material that has been almost a year in the works to see the light until 2025. But has been worth the wait. This is just an snippet of where my head was in 2023 back then.

Created during December 2023 / January 2024 and recorded between London UK and Mexicali MX. Inspired by the sky and what comes to unify us with our overseas and near friends/families.
